Nepal TotalControl simulator passes Site Acceptance Testing

After working closely alongside the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) of Nepal for the past 11 months, we are pleased to announce the successful completion of Site Acceptance Testing for their 360-degree TotalControl tower and surveillance simulator solution.

Airways International’s contract with the CAA is to supply and install a 360-degree tower simulator, an approach surveillance simulator and an area surveillance simulator, as well as six simulator pilot positions, at CAA’s air traffic control training facilities at Sanothimi Bhaktapur.

The Airways solution imitates the Nepal Flight Information Region with real-world traffic scenarios including weather. Four tower environments using TotalControl’s advanced ‘TrueView’ visuals have been developed for CAA, providing air traffic controllers with a simulation experience almost indistinguishable from the real world.

We congratulate our CAA Nepal colleagues on the successful site acceptance testing this week – the team at Airways International were proud to pass this important milestone with you, and we look forward to supporting you through the Operational Test Period.
