ICAO Doc 9905 RNP-AR Procedures

This course focuses on advanced approach procedures with vertical guidance, including Required Navigation Performance Authorisation Required (RNP AR) and a revisit of BARO-VNAV design criteria. These procedures rely on positive vertical navigation guidance and are classified as APV operations under ICAO standards.

This course is suited to experienced procedure designers and aviation professionals working with complex or terrain-challenged environments. It covers RNP AR criteria for arrivals, final, intermediate, and missed approach segments, along with practical design exercises to reinforce learning.

By the end of the module, participants will be able to apply RNP AR and BARO-VNAV criteria confidently, design safe and efficient APV procedures, and interpret ICAO guidance for vertically guided approaches. This training supports the development of high-precision navigation solutions in modern airspace systems.
