A big congratulations to our latest cohort of air traffic control students who have graduated from the Airways Training academy and are now commencing their on-job training in Airways New Zealand units around the country.
Of the 12 trainees in cohort AI0424, 11 completed air traffic control (ATC) training, and one completed Flight Service Operator (FSO) training.
The ATC students kicked off their studies in the Airways Training centre in Christchurch at the end of April, completing 051 ATS Licensing Subjects and then moving on to 052 Aerodrome Control, 054 Area Control Surveillance, and 053 Approach Control Surveillance courses, before starting on-job training.
We wish these students all the best for their on-job training, and for bright and rewarding careers as air traffic controllers with Airways!
